On September 4, the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan Jumamyrat Gurbangeldiyev held a meeting with the Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) Sultanbay Rayev.

The parties exchanged views on the events that have been held and will be held in connection with the announcement of the city of Anev as the "Cultural Capital of the Turkic World" and 2024 as the "Year of the Great Poet and Thinker of the Turkic World Makhtumkuli Fragi". During the meeting, the current state and priority areas for the development of cooperation were discussed. The fruitful nature of the interaction between Turkmenistan and TURKSOY in the preservation, study and popularization of the rich cultural heritage of the Turkic-speaking peoples was noted.

Sultanbay Rayev proposed that the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan actively participate in the final stage of the 2024 events organized by TURKSOY.

The Minister of Education of Turkmenistan expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation will successfully develop within the framework of TURKSOY and the education system of our country will make its worthy contribution.
