Ankara and Bishkek Discussed the Preparations for the Summit of the Organization of Turkic States
12.08.2024 | 23:22 |12 August, Monday, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Kyrgyz Foreign Minister, Jeenbek Kulubayev discussed by phone about the preparations for the 11th summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS/TDT), which will be held this autumn in Bishkek. It is scheduled for 23-25 October.
The previous, 10th summit of OTS was held on 3 November 2023 in Astana under the chairmanship of Kazakh President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev.
On 12 March 2024, Ashgabat hosted the 15th meeting of the Council of Elders of the OTG, chaired by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Head of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan and member of the Council of Elders of the OTG.
Turkmenistan, along with Hungary, has observer status in the Organization, which unites five countries: Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan.
