 The CIS Headquarters Presents the Concept of the Ashgabat Forum of Heads of State and Government

A meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS Member States to the Statutory and Other Bodies of the Commonwealth was held on July 30 at the CIS Headquarters in Minsk.

The meeting, which was chaired by the Russian Federation using videoconferencing, was attended by Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Sergey Lebedev and other responsible employees of the CIS Executive Committee.

During the meeting, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Belarus, Permanent Plenipotentiary Representative to the Statutory and Other Bodies of the CIS Nazarguly Shagulyev delivered a report on the Concept of the International Forum “Interconnection of Times and Civilizations – the Basis of the Modern World and Development”, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly.

Shagulyev informed that this forum is scheduled for October 11 in Ashgabat with the participation of the leaders of many countries and authoritative international organizations.

The Permanent Representative noted that in accordance with the decree of the President of Turkmenistan, 2024 has become the year of large-scale celebrations in honor of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great classic of Turkmen literature Magtymguly Fragi. In this regard, a large-scale plan of festive events was approved, according to which various events dedicated to this anniversary are held not only in our country, but also throughout the world.

The International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) also declared 2024 the "Year of the great poet and thinker of the Turkic world – Magtymguly Fragi". Targeted work on the widespread popularization of the creative heritage, humanistic views of the classic, and the cultural traditions of the Turkmen people is carried out by diplomatic and consular offices of Turkmenistan abroad.
