 Turkmenistan aims to develop renewable energy sources

Turkmenistan will prepare a Plan to strengthen international cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources for 2025-2030. International organizations, financial institutions and research centers will participate in its development.

For these purposes, it is planned to hold an International Conference in the first half of September of this year with the participation of the secretariat of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, the UN Development Program, the UN Environment Program, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the Global Environmental Foundation and the Regional Environmental Center of Central Asia.

In the second half of September, the Turkmen delegation will discuss issues on this topic at the headquarters of the International Renewable Energy Agency, Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Cooperation with the world's leading companies in the field of renewable energy sources will also be one of the topics of the International Investment Forum of Turkmenistan, which will be held in Ashgabat on September 19-20.

This was discussed at a meeting of the Turkmen government on Friday, July 19. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved the proposals presented by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov and ordered to begin work on preparing a five-year Cooperation Plan in the field of renewable energy sources.
