On June 21, 2024, in Frankfurt am Main, the Consulate of Turkmenistan in Germany held an international scientific conference on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi.

The events were attended by officials of the State Chancellery of the federal state of Hesse and the city of Frankfurt, diplomatic missions accredited in the state of Hesse, creative intellectuals and scientists, the Turkmen diaspora and student youth. The Turkmen delegation, headed by the director of the Magtymguly Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan D.Orazsahedov, was represented by members of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture, and the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography.

During the conference, speakers noted the fruitful development of cultural and humanitarian relations between Turkmenistan and the Federal Republic of Germany.

Along with this, it was stated that the literary heritage of the classical poet Magtymguly Fragi, his works calling for peace, patriotism, harmony, brotherhood and friendship, strengthening relations between peoples. It was emphasized that the literary heritage of the great poet Magtymguly Fragi became an invaluable treasure of world art and served to enrich the spiritual world of humanity.

In addition, at the conference there was a presentation of the books of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov “Youth - the support of the Motherland” and “Anau - culture from the depths of millennia”, a new book “Magtymguly” with selected poems by the poet, as well as a new collection of poems by the Turkmen classic in German. The event participants were familiarized with the content of these books, noting the importance of new publications for the younger generation of Turkmenistan.

During the event, poems by Magtymguly Fragi were recited, and videos dedicated to the development of Turkmenistan and the work of the outstanding Turkmen philosopher were shown.

On the sidelines of the event, an exhibition of books by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the national leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, collections of Magtymguly Fragi, as well as works of decorative and applied art of the Turkmen people were displayed.

In the framework of the stay of the delegation of Turkmenistan in Germany, a meeting was held with the Chairman of the Frankfurt City Council, Hilime Arslaner, during which the development of bilateral ties in the cultural and humanitarian sphere, including the possibility of organizing joint cultural events in Frankfurt were discussed.

During the meeting, the Turkmen side informed about the announcement of the year 2024 in our country “The Fount of the Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi” and the international events held in Turkmenistan and abroad dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and thinker.

The parties expressed interest in further deepening cooperation in the abovementioned areas, whereas H.Arslaner was invited to participate in international events in Turkmenistan.
