The first introductory training on the use of a pocket guide to providing primary health care to children and adolescents took place in Ashgabat. The training was conducted by international consultant Olena Staretz.

The pocket guide was developed by the World Health Organization. It provides guidance on health promotion, disease prevention and management from birth through adolescence.

Implementation of the guidelines will help improve the skills of health workers in the provision of pediatric services.
