Tashkent will host a meeting of the foreign ministers of Central Asia and the Arab states of the Gulf
12.04.2024 | 18:46 |The second meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Strategic Dialogue “Central Asia – Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Gulf” will be held next week, on April 15, in Tashkent.
Delegations from Central Asian countries – Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and the member countries of the Council – Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Saudi Arabia are expected to participate.
The meeting provides for reviewing the implementation of agreements reached within the framework of the first summit of the heads of State of Central Asia and the Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Gulf, held on July 19, 2023 in Jeddah, discussing the development of cooperation in political, trade, economic, investment, transport, communication, cultural and humanitarian fields, as well as in the field of security and safety the environment.
There will also be an exchange of views on preparations for the next Summit in the format of “Central Asia – Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Gulf” in Samarkand in 2025.
According to the results of the event, it is planned to adopt a joint statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan reported.
The first meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the member countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf and the States of Central Asia was held in September 2022 in Riyadh. This platform was created in order to expand the political dialogue between the countries and develop interregional cooperation in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
