09.01.2024 | 14:44 |American golfer, 15-time winner of Major tournaments Tiger Woods has ended his cooperation with Nike after 27 years.
"27 years ago, I was lucky enough to become a part of one of the most famous brands. The time since then has been filled with mind—blowing moments and wonderful memories, talking about which I could spend eternity," Woods wrote on his Instagram page, noting that a "new chapter" would begin in his life.
In a reply letter, Nike also expressed gratitude to the golfer for his cooperation, for the challenge he has thrown at stereotypes, conventions, the old way of thinking and the entire golf institute.
Tiger Woods, the holder of many golf records, has been working with Nike since 1996. The contract with the company brought the golfer over $460 million over 27 years.
In June 2022, Forbes magazine wrote that Woods became the third billionaire athlete in history. The bulk of his income comes from advertising contracts, including with Rolex, Gatorade, Monster Energy, TaylorMade, Buick and Gillette.
