 Ashgabat and Kabul signed an agreement for the supply of Turkmen electricity in 2024

Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) Chief Executive Officer Breshna Sherkat Alhaj Mullah Muhammad Hanif Hamza and his accompanying delegation met with Energy Minister Annageldi Saparov and the management of Turkmenenergo during a two-day visit to Turkmenistan. During the visit, an energy supply agreement for 2024 was signed.

Under this agreement, up to 1.8 billion kilowatt-hours of energy will be supplied to four destinations: Andkhoy, Akina, Badghis and Turgondai-Herat. In addition, Turkmenenergo assured that the 500 kV power transmission line from Shebergan to Arganday will be completed. This line was recently opened and will allow the purchase of more electricity from Turkmenistan, the Afghan government media information center GMIC reports.

The Nurul Jihad substation project in Herat province was also discussed at the meeting. The contract for this project was signed between Breshna and Turkmenenergo. Turkmenenergo was instructed to complete work at this substation as soon as possible.

The Afghan side expressed gratitude to Turkmenistan for its full cooperation and asked for continued support in these difficult times.
