Xinhua: Xi'an has served more than 5 thousand China-Europe freight trains since the beginning of 2023
15.12.2023 | 21:11 |Since the beginning of this year, Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province, has handled more than 5,000 freight trains on China-Europe routes, up 15.6 percent year-on-year, local authorities said on Friday, Xinhua reports.
Since the launch of international rail freight services here in 2013, over the past 10 years, Xi'an has served more than 21.1 thousand China-Europe freight trains. Thus, the Xi'an International Port Station became the first railway station in China to serve more than 20 thousand China-Europe freight trains. Moreover, every 100 minutes, on average, one freight train arrives or departs from this station.
Currently, a total of 17 China-Europe international rail freight routes link Xi'an with major shipping points in Eurasia.
