 Spain sees no new Covid-19 deaths for the past two days

Spain’s Health Ministry reported no new deaths from the new coronavirus on June 1-2. The country sees no new Covid-19 deaths for two consecutive days, first time since announcing its first coronavirus case in March 2020.

Spain is one of the nations hardest-hit by the virus in Europe with the total death toll at 27,000. Over the pandemic, the country has a total 240,000 confirmed cases.

Earlier, Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez proposed to extend the state of emergency until June 21. After that, the government would allow citizens to move freely.
