Huawei has unveiled the world's first tablet with satellite communication

The Chinese company Huawei has introduced the world's first tablet computer with satellite communication support.

Currently, MatePad Pro 11 (2024) is available only in China, and satellite communication support is implemented through the use of the local Beidou system.

The owners of the device will be able to use satellite communications on the territory of the Celestial Empire, where the device can interact with Beidou orbiters located at a distance of up to 36 thousand km from the Earth's surface.

Instead of additional antennas, Huawei used advanced technology. In particular, algorithms with a high signal gain and innovative communication protocols, which will significantly improve the quality of communication.

MatePad Pro 11 (2024) is equipped with an 11-inch OLED display with support for a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels. It can also claim to be one of the thinnest devices of its kind. Its dimensions are 249 × 160 × 5.9 mm, and its weight is 449 grams.

The device uses the HarmonyOS 4 platform.

MatePad Pro 11 (2024) is equipped with a proprietary Kirin 9000S processor, which provides a high level of performance and 5G support.

Buyers will be able to choose between versions of the tablet with 12 GB of RAM and a 256 or 512 GB drive. Autonomous operation is provided by a rechargeable battery with a capacity of 8300 mAh with support for fast charging with a power of up to 66 watts.

Users will also be able to use the Huawei M-Pencil 3 stylus with the ability to recognize 10 thousand levels of pressing.
