Oriented on making people closer

Azerbaijan has adopted the state standard for ecological types of vehicles AZS 636:2023 "Road vehicles. Ecological classes," Trend reports, referring to the Azerbaijan Institute of Standardization (AZSTAND).

The new standard is aimed at expanding the use of environmentally friendly and safe modes of transport.

It defines the requirements for emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere by motor vehicles located on the territory of Azerbaijan (imported and manufactured in the republic). The standard will also help to reduce the negative impact of vehicles on the environment, human life and health.

The Azerbaijan Institute of Standardization (AZSTAND) is subordinate to the State Service for Antimonopoly Regulation and Supervision of the Consumer Market under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan.
