Turkmen students competed for their medals among 152 best mathematicians from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. The International Olympiad in Mathematics named after Muhammad al-Khorezmi takes place on October 23-29 in the capital of Karakalpakstan, Nukus.
Young mathematicians from Turkmenistan won 4 gold, 5 silver, 7 bronze medals. Two students received the title “Absolute Champion” - Myratgeldi Annamuhammedov, a student at the International University of Humanities and Development, and Dovlet Gurdov from the Turkmen State Energy Institute.
In total, Turkmenistan was represented at the Uzbek Olympiad by 35 students from different universities of the country - Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, Institute of International Relations, Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after Seyitnazar Seydi, Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Turkmen Agricultural University named after S. A. Niyazov.
The Mathematics Olympiad named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi was approved by the government of Uzbekistan in 2018, and since then has been held every two years. The organizers are the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan together with the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The organizers of the Mathematics Olympiad named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi are the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan together with the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
