The Turkmen city of Anau will officially take the title of the cultural capital of the Turkic world-2024
08.10.2023 | 19:32 |The 40th meeting of the Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture of the countries of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) will be held next week on October 13-14, in the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2023 - the Azerbaijani city of Shusha.
According to Deputy Secretary General TURKSOY Sait Yusuf, the meeting will be attended by the Ministers of Culture of 6 founding countries of the organization - Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, reports Report.
Traditionally, TURKSOY's activities will be discussed at the meeting, plans for 2024 will be announced, and appropriate decisions will be made.
The meeting will also transfer the status of the "Cultural Capital of the Turkic World" for 2024 to the Turkmen city of Anau.
In this regard, a plan of cultural events is being prepared, which will be held next year in Anau with the participation of creative teams and delegations of other states. In particular, it provides for the organization of scientific, youth and media forums, concerts of popular pop artists and folk performers, exhibitions of works of fine and decorative arts, photo exhibitions and much more. Also, traditional creative actions will be held in Anau under the auspices of TURKSOY.
In addition, in 2022, at a meeting of the national commissions for UNESCO of the TURKSOY member countries, held in the Turkish city of Bursa, it was unanimously decided to declare 2024 "The Year of the great poet and thinker of the Turkic world – Magtymguly Pyragy" in connection with his 300th anniversary.
