The VII International Festival of Puppet Theaters "Chodari Khayel" will be held from October 24 to 29 in the capital of Tajikistan – the city of Dushanbe. For the first time, students of the puppet department of the Turkmen State Institute of Culture will take part in the creative review, who have specially prepared a production of "Eternal Legends" for this event.
The plot is based on excerpts from the works of the National Hero of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov "Mother Worship – worship of the shrine", "Turkmenistan is the heart of the Great Silk Road" and "Turkmen Alabai". Three stories are combined into a single narrative and tell about the spiritual and moral values of the Turkmen people.
The play "Eternal Legends" was previously staged on the stage of the Turkmen State Puppet Theater and was a great success. Professional actors played in the production. The students of the Institute retreated from the traditional genre of puppet theater and presented their version of the play in the form of a spectacular ultraviolet performance with flat figures of characters glowing in the dark, objects and devices for fabulous visualization.
There are no puppet puppets in the performance, but the elements of plastic language and the technique of working with objects are colorfully played out. And a special parable style is given to the action by the poetic narration of the reader, which the viewer hears throughout the performance.
The festival "Chodari Khayel" will also be attended by puppet theater groups from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Iran.
