
The international conference entitled “The Great Creative Heritage of Magtymguly Pyragy ” was held in the building of the Ankara University of Social Sciences on Thursday, October 5.
The forum was organized as part of the events dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the classic of Turkmen literature and an outstanding thinker of the whole East by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Turkey together with the Ankara University of Social Sciences, the EcoAvrasia Foundation and the Union of Engineers and Builders of the Turkic World.

The conference was attended by representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Ankara, deputies of the National Parliament of the Republic of Turkey, the leadership of TURKSOY, rectors of leading higher educational institutions, orientalists, writers, Turkmen students studying at Turkish universities, and the media.
At the plenary session, the attention of the conference participants was focused on the global significance of the personality of the poet-humanist, who played a significant role in shaping the currents of spiritual thought of his time and made an invaluable contribution to the development of the art of high artistic expression.

They also discussed the importance of Magtymguly’s creative heritage in educating the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism, the activities for its popularization launched in Turkmenistan by the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the national leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
As a contribution to the support of this work, the decision of the TURKSOY Council to declare 2024 the Year of Magtymguly in the countries of the Turkic world was noted. As part of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the great poet, various events will be organized both in Turkmenistan and abroad.

The International Conference in Ankara continued with four thematic sessions, in which the key aspects of Magtymguly’s philosophical views and the facets of his poetry were examined in more detail. Representatives of the academic circles of Turkey shared their vision of the Turkmen classic’s creativity and the pearls of his wisdom, which enriched the treasury of universal spiritual values.
In conclusion, the participants unanimously recognized that the forum was another step in the development of international scientific and cultural ties.
