Uzbekistan and Russia want to establish cargo communication through Turkmenistan and the Caspian Sea
The launch of a multimodal route in the direction of Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan – the Caspian Sea – Russia and back was discussed on Tuesday, September 12, by the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Makhkamov with the Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Dmitry Zverev.
The parties discussed the organization of export-import cargo transportation along this route between Uzbekistan and Russia, as well as other issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of transport and logistics.
In particular, the issues of increasing the number of permit forms for international road transport, the frequency of flights between the cities of the two countries and the opening of a new route Tashkent - Yuzhny-Sakhalinsk were considered, the Uzbek Ministry of Transport said in a press release.
