The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan discussed holding events with the Republic of Korea

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajyyev held talks with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Ji Kyu-taek, during which the holding of the 16th Central Asia - Republic of Korea Forum and the next meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission in Ashgabat in 2023 were discussed.

Information about this became known during the presentation of credentials of the newly appointed head of the South Korean diplomatic mission in the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the website of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.

The next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation will be held this year in Ashgabat. Its holding will give a significant impetus to the development of bilateral partnership in various segments.

As for the 16th Central Asia - Republic of Korea Forum, which will also be hosted by the Turkmen capital, the diplomats noted the effectiveness of cooperation, including in the regional format.

In addition, the sides expressed their commitment to expanding bilateral contacts, touching upon such areas as energy, trade, scientific and humanitarian cooperation, culture, education and healthcare.

The productivity of economic contacts was noted, as evidenced by previously implemented joint projects.
