 Draft agreement on free trade in services in the CIS approved by the President of Belarus

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has approved a draft agreement on free trade in services in the CIS, BelTA informs citing the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The document provides for the creation in the Commonwealth of Independent States of a zone of free trade in services and investment, and also establishes the principles of equality and non-discrimination of participants in economic relations, regardless of citizenship, place of registration and form of ownership. In addition, the agreement provides for additional conditions for the activities of companies from the CIS countries in the service, manufacturing and agricultural sectors of the Commonwealth countries.

"The conclusion of the agreement will contribute to the development of industrial cooperation, the introduction of innovations, the creation of favorable conditions for the further growth of the economies of the CIS member states," the report says.
