Turkmenistan invited to SCO summit on July 4 as guest of chairman - India
30.05.2023 | 20:54 |As part of its first-ever chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, India will host the 22nd SCO Council of Heads of State Summit on July 4 virtually, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, UNI news agency reported.
All SCO member states, i.e. China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan were invited to participate in the summit. In addition, Iran, Belarus and Mongolia are invited as observer states, the report says.
Following the tradition of the SCO, Turkmenistan was also invited as a guest of the chairman.
The heads of six international and regional organizations will also be present, namely the UN, ASEAN, CIS, CSTO, EAEU and CICA.
The topic of the summit is "Towards a SECURE SCO"
The abbreviation SECURE means security, economy, connection, unity, respect, ecology.
India assumed the SCO presidency at the Samarkand summit on September 16, 2022.
