 The Moscow festival "Sounds of Dutar" is waiting for musicians for a performance competition

The Moscow International Art Festival "Sounds of Dutar" named after Nury Halmamedov, the author of the project of which is the composer Mammed Guseynov, will be held this fall for the 7th time - from October 28 to November 4. The new season is dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the great Turkmen composer Nury Halmamedov (1938-1983).

Concerts, an art exhibition of a modern Turkmen painter, a film screening, and a presentation of a vocal collection by Nury Halmamedov will be held within the framework of the VII festival.

Applications for the musicians' competition for the best performance of academic music based on ethno-cultural traditions are also being accepted. The competition is held in one round, it is open to musicians from all over the world.

Among the specialties of the competition: vocal art, instrumental performance (strings, wind instruments, piano, folk orchestra instruments). Nominations: soloists, duets, trios, ensembles – instrumental, vocal and vocal-instrumental. Each specialty will have its own chairman of the jury, which includes leading figures of the musical art of Russia, Turkmenistan and other countries.

Submission of documents and video applications is carried out online through the official website of the competition – Applications are accepted until October 1, 2023.

Uniting people, developing people's diplomacy, strengthening good neighborliness and cooperation between peoples, preserving the ethno–cultural traditions of Russia and the CIS countries - this is the main goal of the festival. Music competitions and art exhibitions held within its framework open up the creative potential of participants and contribute to the strengthening of interethnic cultural ties.

Over the past years, about 600 performing musicians, as well as choreographic and choral groups from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Germany, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, the UAE, Russia, Slovenia, the USA, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, France, Ecuador, South Korea, Japan and others have participated in the Sounds of Dutar festival countries.

As an annual event, the festival provides musicians with the opportunity to perform, communicate, maintain professional and friendly ties, be in the trend of the modern classical music industry, and listeners enjoy, learn new names and discover new facets of art in all its manifestations.

The music festival is also traditionally a platform for the youngest artists, without whose charm, as well as without the energy of its art director Mammed Guseynov, it would not be the amazing event that it becomes every time - a holiday for the soul, ears, eyes and minds of the public.
