Oriented on making people closer

The delegation of the World Trade Organization will visit Ashgabat on May 29-31. The upcoming meeting was discussed in Geneva on Friday by Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva, Ambassador Atageldy Khaljanov and Director of the WTO Accession Department Maika Oshikawa, News Central Asia reports.

The parties considered the process of Turkmenistan's accession to the WTO and the preparation of the Memorandum on the country's foreign trade regime.

Recall that on February 23, 2022, Turkmenistan received the status of a country ready to join the World Trade Organization in accordance with the XII Marrakesh Agreement establishing the WTO.

The General Council of the organization has established a working group that will oversee negotiations between WTO members and Turkmenistan on the terms of its accession.
