 Election observers in Turkmenistan noted the activity of young people and the festive atmosphere

The voting procedure for the elections to the national Parliament has been completed in Turkmenistan. More than 80 international observers followed the course of the campaign in the regions of the country and in the capital.

The head of the CIS Observer Mission, Sergey Lebedev, in an interview with media representatives at one of the polling stations in Ashgabat, noted the active participation of Turkmen citizens in the elections from the very morning, including young people, a festive atmosphere with music and songs. He also noted the good preparedness of the polling stations, the attentiveness and competence of the members of the election commissions.

The elections to the Parliament of Turkmenistan were monitored by more than 80 international observers, including from the UN, the CIS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Organization of Turkic States, the Bureau for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE/ODIHR).

The day before, Sergei Lebedev met with the head of the SCO Observer Mission, Grigory Logvinov, and the head of the OSCE ODIHR mission, Corin Jonker. "We note that the necessary conditions have been created in the republic for international election observation," the head of the CIS Secretary General said in an interview with them.
