The EAEU countries will launch a single energy market

In 2025, the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will create a single energy market. This was stated by the Minister of the Eurasian Economic Commission for Energy and Infrastructure from Kyrgyzstan Arzybek Kozhoshev on the sidelines of the International Energy Forum of the EAEU countries held in Bishkek, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.

Within the framework of a single energy market, countries will be able to help each other in case of energy shortages. According to the minister, despite the fact that the energy capabilities of the EAEU countries differ from each other, the parties are interested in cooperation in this area. Basic regulatory legal acts have already been formed, a set of measures that the Union countries should approve is being discussed.

In order to sell electricity on market terms, a special exchange will be created within the framework of the unified energy market.
