Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin will hold talks in Ashgabat
On January 29-30, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin will pay an official visit to Turkmenistan at the head of the State Duma delegation.
Within the framework of the visit, the delegation is scheduled to meet in the Parliament of Turkmenistan - the Mejlis. Deputies of Russia and Turkmenistan will discuss new formats of inter-parliamentary cooperation for the development of bilateral relations, according to the website of the State Duma.
On November 2, 2022, Vyacheslav Volodin met with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in Moscow. During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the issues of intensifying the inter-parliamentary dialogue. In particular, the initiative to form a parliamentary dimension of cooperation between the Caspian countries was considered.
They also discussed cooperation in the field of education, including the establishment of the Russian-Turkmen University in Ashgabat.
Last week, a Russian government delegation headed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin visited Turkmenistan.
