As part of a working visit to Turkmenistan, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin met with Chairman of the upper house of the Turkmen parliament Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the official website of the Government of the Russian Federation reports.

Thanking the Turkmen side for the warm welcome, Mishustin conveyed the best wishes of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko.

The Head of the Russian government noted the fruitful nature of bilateral relations in trade, economic, transport, energy and industry, cultural and humanitarian fields.

"A lot of subjects of the Russian Federation work with Turkmenistan. We have counted, dear Gurbanguly Myalikgulyevich, 60 subjects of the Russian Federation with friendly ties – trade, industrial, economic, cultural," the Prime Minister of Russia said.

The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation also thanked Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for his careful attitude to the common history, noting that Turkmenistan and Russia are united by the memory of the Great Patriotic War.

"An unprecedented feat of front-line soldiers, home front workers, it was all our common efforts, and I know about a large number of Turkmens who fought heroically. Today we visited the memorial complex “People's Memory” and honored the memory, paid tribute to the victims. I want to thank you for such a careful attitude to our common history," Mishustin said.
