Thai boxing masters from Turkmenistan have won five medals at an international tournament in Antalya, Turkey, the country's state news agency reports. Among the awards — one gold, three silver and one bronze.
The gold in the piggy bank of the Turkmen team was brought by Mustafa Saparmyradov, the Thai boxing coach of the Ashgabat 2nd Sports School of the Main Department of Physical Education and Sports, who competed in the weight category up to 86 kg.
The winners of the silver awards were students of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports Byashim Byashimov (up to 60 kg), Muhammet Jumamyradov (up to 81 kg) and Dovletmyrat Guijov (over 91 kg).
Bronze medal in the weight category up to 90 kg was won by the kickboxing coach of the capital's 4th sports School of the Main Department of Physical Education and Sports Muhammetberdi Rovshenov.
A total of 756 fighters from 32 countries participated in the competition. Turkmenistan was represented by 9 athletes.
