Campaign for planting grape seedlings in Ahal claims a world record
29.10.2022 | 08:12 |The campaign for planting grape seedlings took place in the Akhal region of Turkmenistan on Friday morning. The laying of a new vineyard took place immediately after the seminar on the theme "Organic melon growing and its contribution to the environment", and it became unique in its kind, and therefore, as the information program “Watan” of the Turkmen state television and radio reported, it claims to be included in the Guinness Book of Records.
The seminar with the participation of the adviser on the organization of World Records Aydin Turkgudzhi brought together representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, local authorities, farmers and students of Turkmen higher schools - more than 500 people in total.
The day before, preparations for this seminar were discussed at a meeting between the head of the Upper House of the Turkmen Parliament, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and Aydin Turkgudzhi.
A news report from the national information service noted that during one of his trips to Akhal, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who personally supervises the construction of a new administrative center in this area and pays special attention to its environmental aspect, gave the name to a grape variety that was bred on an experimental site in this area. This is how the variety "Kyarizek" appeared - by the name of the village located not far from the vineyard.
