Tatarstan's foreign economic relations are largely determined by long-standing traditions of interaction with Islamic states, said Elena Agzamova, adviser to the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan, speaking online at the Ashgabat transport forum on Monday.
She recalled that President Rustam Minnikhanov heads the “Russia-Islamic World” Strategic Vision Group, established in 2006 by prominent Russian statesman Yevgeny Primakov and the first President of Tatarstan, Mintimer Shaimiev. (By the way, Yevgeny Primakov headed the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation for more than ten years).
– I would like to quote the speech of the outstanding political figure of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the plenary session of the XIII International Economic Summit "Russia – Islamic World: KazanSummit 2022": "Tatarstan has traditionally been the initiator and conductor of many projects and proposals aimed at developing interstate cooperation in the investment, humanitarian spheres. Such a mission is especially in demand today, it is designed to preserve and strengthen the foundation on which the culture of Russian-Islamic civilizational dialogue was created and enriched from time immemorial, the worldview and spiritual closeness of the peoples of multinational Russia and Muslim countries were formed.
Elena Agzamova emphasized that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan has a whole pool of experts in the field of transport and logistics to create an interregional group to develop joint solutions to those issues that are already on the agenda.
For example, issues of further cooperation in the field of ship repair and shipbuilding, training of specialists for the seaport of Turkmenbashi, harmonization of the mechanism of the "green" customs corridor, ensuring the achievement of an accelerated passage of control procedures, the creation of a simplified system of electronic document management.
