An online meeting of the national working group of Turkmenistan on the SDGs was held
26.06.2022 | 23:17 |The National Working Group of Turkmenistan on Sustainable Development Goals, consisting of representatives of various ministries and departments of Turkmenistan, held another online meeting at which the successes achieved and further steps to implement the SDGs in the country were discussed.
In his opening speech, the Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan Mukhammetgeldi Serdarov informed the participants of the meeting about the work carried out by the Ministry of Finance on the implementation of the SDGs. In this regard, he recalled that the socio-economic development program adopted this year in the country for 30 years ahead is based on the Sustainable Development Goals proclaimed by the UN.
The Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan also presented the annual report of the Joint UN-Government Expert Group on Financing the SDGs for 2021 and introduced the meeting participants to the changes made to the national SDG matrix.
Serdarov added that Turkmenistan currently intends to further intensify work on financing the SDGs at the national level, based on the principle of "no one should be left out."
During the meeting, the results of the work carried out to prepare for the provision of a Voluntary National Survey of Turkmenistan in June 2023 were reviewed.
Representatives of the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection and other ministries and departments also made reports on the work done in the field of SDGs.
