In the new administrative center of the Akhal region of Turkmenistan, it is necessary to provide services of electric buses and electric taxis. Such an initiative was made by Chairman of the Upper House of the Parliament Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during his acquaintance with the construction of the city.

It is necessary to train drivers and specialists in servicing new types of environmentally friendly transport, the head of the People's Council stressed, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the ecological well-being of the environment, the official Turkmen press writes today.

Also, while getting acquainted with the implementation of the project, the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh, focused on the introduction of digital smart city systems during the construction of the administrative center.

Earlier, the intention to test Kamaz electric buses in Turkmenistan was announced by the company's CEO Sergei Kogogin in December last year.

The possible purchase of this environmentally friendly mode of transport by Turkmenistan was reported also in May 2021 following negotiations of the Presidents of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation.
