Turkmenistan is preparing to open its logistic center in Astrakhan region
Via videoconference Turkmenistan and Astrakhan region held a meeting on Entrepreneurship. Participants had discussed the progress of the agreements and the issues of expanding trade.
The Minister of Industry and Natural Resources of the Russian region Denis Afanasyev in his speech noted the trade between Astrakhan region and Turkmenistan during nine months of 2021 amounted to 198.5 million dollars, does not reflect the existing capacities.
Astrakhan companies are ready to supply agricultural products and industrial goods to Turkmenistan and purchase Turkmen textile and polypropylene.
The agenda of the council was the opening of the logistics center of Turkmenistan on the territory of a special economic zone being formed in the port of Olya.
Astrakhan region and Turkmenistan have long cooperated in shipbuilding. Several oil platforms and other fleet facilities already have been built by the enterprises of Astrakhan for Turkmenistan and prepared to assume new orders, including industrial cooperation with «Balkan» shipyard in the port of the Turkmenbashy city.
