Turkmen leader launched an initiative to create ECO business platforms with the involvement of business
29.11.2021 | 02:32 |The heads of state and government of the countries participating in the Economic Cooperation Organization during the ECO summit reflected their vision of the work of the Organization and highlighted its unique geo-economic role during the 15th ECO Summit in Ashgabat.
“Our peoples have centuries-old traditions, valuable experience has been accumulated, which requires its revival, use and enrichment taking into account modern realities,” said President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, speaking at the forum on Sunday.
He focused on trade and economic relations between the countries of this format, proposing to create ECO business platforms on the principles of public-private partnership, each of which could purposefully work in the interests of developing and expanding trade ties.
The Turkmen leader noted the relevance of cooperation in such segments as the production of industrial goods, agriculture, the service sector, and the wider use of e-commerce.
As for cooperation in medicine and healthcare, the head of Turkmenistan spoke in favor of establishing channels within the ECO to exchange experience, methods and best practices in the field of combating dangerous infectious diseases.
"Economic cooperation in the ECO space should be accompanied by the expansion of interaction in the cultural and humanitarian sphere," said President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
