XV Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization started in Ashkhabad

Today XV Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) under the chairmanship of the President of Turkmenistan started in Ashkhabad with participation of heads of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Iran, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, and also Prime Minister of Kazakhstan and ECO Secretary General.

Speaking at the summit, participants focus the attention on enhancement of economic cooperation, development of plans for joint solution of consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, development of renewed energy sources in the region, adjustment of mutually beneficial investment cooperation within the limits of ECO.

The special attention was given to increase of overall performance of Secretariat of ECO, which should concentrate efforts to economic activities, and realisation of projects, which are priority for the organisation’s member states.

Following the results of the Summit adoption of "Ashkhabad Declaration» and some other important documents which will strengthen economic interaction between the regional countries is expected.
