On Saturday, at a meeting in Ashgabat, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization Khusrav Noziri discussed the priorities and prospects of regional partnership through the prism of Turkmenistan's chairmanship in the ECO.
As the ECO Secretary General noted, the holding of the ECO summit by Ashgabat, which will be held on November 28 and should serve as a representative forum for an open exchange of views on the future interaction of the participating countries between the member states of the Organization, including in the field of stability and security, once again confirms the responsible approach of Turkmenistan to the issues of international cooperation.
Noziri also expressed support for the constructive initiatives and proposals of Turkmenistan aimed at expanding economic relations between states and the search for agreed approaches to problems of global importance.
Turkmenistan will continue to promote the implementation of the multifaceted potential of partnership between the ECO member states for common purposes, Berdimuhamedov said, stressing that the country is building a dialogue with partners in the interests of peace, security and progress, relying on its neutral status.
The ECO Secretary General expressed his conviction that the summit of heads of state held in the Turkmen capital will be successful in terms of new approaches and constructive solutions for the development of mutually beneficial relations.
