From 2015 to 2020, Turkmenistan has increased export to Russia by 339, 7 %, the data from research of processes international regionalization Institute of economy of the Russian Academy of Sciences testifies.
In 2015, Turkmenistan delivered to the Russian Federation production for 73 million US dollars while in 2020 this sum reached already 321 million US dollars. Import of Turkmenistan from Russia for the same period was reduced by 27, 7 %.
According to all available information, which was mentioned during the telephone conversation between Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Vladimir Putin, the Turkmen-Russian goods turnover for eight months of 2021 has grown by 12,5 % in relation to the similar period of 2020, and the volume of mutual trade has reached 1,86 billion US dollars.
Businessmen of Turkmenistan successfully deliver agricultural production to Russia. For example, the essential share of tomatoes exported to the Russian Federation belongs to the private sector.
In April 2019, Russia renewed purchase of Turkmen gas. Later "Gazprom" concluded with "Türkmengaz" the contract for import of blue fuel. Until 2024, the Russian company will buy from Turkmenistan about 5, 5 million cubic metre of natural gas a year.
