President Berdimuhamedov on Friday during the meeting of the government signed the decree according to which a land plot of over 26 hectares will be provided to the Chinese oil and gas corporation CNPC for rent.

On the site of 18 hectares, a complex of engineering constructions intended for water intake from the Amu Darya and also - a little more than 8, 5 hectares for laying of water supply system to objects of gas fields located in the contractual territory of Bagtyyarlyk will be constructed.

Rent of the land plot with water intaking constructions is given for that term until termination of production sharing agreement, and the site with a water supply system - for completion of construction work.

The contractual territory of Bagtyyarlyk - the large oil and gas project under the terms of the production sharing agreement. The operator of the project - the Chinese CNPC entering into the three of the largest oil and gas companies of the world.

The production sharing agreement for a period of more than 30 years was signed between CNPC and State Agency for Management and Use of Hydrocarbon Resources, which stopped its activity 5 years ago. Its functions, according to the decree of President Berdimuhamedov of July 15, 2016, were transferred to Türkmengaz and Turkmenneft State Concerns.

The Bagtyyarlyk project covers the site with large-scale gas deposits on the right bank of the Amu Darya in the eastern region of Turkmenistan.

A little more than a month ago on the world's largest overland Galkynysh gas field, the raw materials that are the major source for the gas pipeline Turkmenistan-China, with participation of CNPC construction of particularly complex wells began.
