Uzbekistan intends to receive a million doses of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine. Tashkent has certified the mass use of the Russian coronavirus vaccine, which has already been approved in 28 countries. The deliveries of Sputnik V to Uzbekistan will be an important step for the prevention of COVID-19 in the country, said Kirill Dmitriev, general director of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF). The vaccination campaign in Uzbekistan against the coronavirus is planned to start in mid-March. By the end of 2021, 7 million people or 20% of the population of Uzbekistan will be vaccinated. It was originally planned that 60% of the population of this Central Asian republic will be vaccinated by June 2021, but the shortage of vaccines does not allow this. Tashkent is negotiating with 12 world vaccine manufacturers. The first hundred doses of the Russian vaccine were delivered to Tashkent in early December 2020. Russia has pledged to provide a million doses of Sputnik V for labor migrants. In addition, a contract is expected to be signed for the supply of EpiVacCorona, the second Russian vaccine. The use of "Sputnik V", besides Russia, is already approved in Argentina, Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Bolivia, Bahrain, Hungary, Venezuela, Serbia, Palestine, Paraguay, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, Iran, Guinea, Tunisia, Lebanon, Mexico, Myanmar, Mongolia, Nicaragua, Pakistan, Montenegro, etc. Today, the Russian Sputnik V vaccine was registered in Gabon.
