President Berdimuhamedov instructed the leadership of the fuel and energy complex of Turkmenistan to increase the pace of work in the field of renewable energy sources and hydrogen energy.

This was discussed on Thursday during the visit by the head of state to the world's first plant for industrial production of environmentally friendly gasoline from natural gas in the Akhal region, the official Turkmen press reports today.

During the meeting of the head of state with the leadership of the fuel and energy complex, it was noted that hydrogen is the fuel of the future, and its production and study is extremely important in light of the concern of the world community with the problems of climate change.

The issue of the implementation of new projects for the development of the gas chemical industry of Turkmenistan was also raised at the meeting.

The urgency to start production of methanol, polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl acetate, formaldehyde in the country was highlighted. Leading companies in the industry have already shown interest in the implementation of relevant projects, said the head of the Turkmenhimiya state concern Nyyazly Nyyazlyev.
