The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will hold for businessmen-landowners of Turkmenistan an online seminar devoted to advancement of hothouse technologies. The event will take place on May 31 with the assistance of three international experts and representatives of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET).

The seminar is topical in the light of active application of measures on replacement of import of vegetables, fruit and berries by the Turkmen government. The state supports businessmen with easy term loans and helps with purchase of the latest equipment for creation of hothouse economy. And it means that to start up business in this sphere for beginners today are easier and more profitable.

The international experts in the field of agrobusiness, developers of hothouse projects and skilled farmers of Kees Coleman, Ian Enghoven, and Tim Morton were invited to the forthcoming action. They will share valuable experience in the sphere of hothouse economy, tell about innovations in the branch, will answer issues of participants.

Within the frameworks of the seminar the presentation of representative UIET devoted to achievements of Turkmen business in the field of hothouse economy over the last 5 years is planned.

As was informed by ORIENT in the State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan, from 2015 in the country have been placed in operation 36 large hothouse complexes. For January-March, 2021 manufacture of vegetables in the country has grown by 24,8 % as compared with the similar period of the past year and fruits and berries – by 3,2 %.

New hothouses are hundreds additional workplaces and thousand tons of useful agricultural products. So, in March of the current year in Turkmenistan opening six large hothouse complexes which total area has made up 35 hectares has taken place at once. In the territory of the hotbeds erected by members of UIET, it is planned to grow annually an order of 8 thousand 750 tons of vegetables. By the projects a total of about 400 workplaces were created.

In December, 2020 president Berdimuhamedov charged related officials to expand produce of bananas and citrus products in the country, and also as a whole to increase quantity of hothouses.

Now in Turkmenistan more than hundred modern hothouses with a total area of 350 hectares operate.
