A cultural event featuring leading figures in science, literature, and art from the Republic of Azerbaijan, led by Minister of Culture Adil Karimli, kicked off in Ashgabat. The forum's opening ceremony took place at the Mukam Palace of the State Cultural Center, kicking off a three-day creative marathon that will span key venues in the capital and the town of Arkadag.
The program kicked off with a large-scale concert. The Ashgabat audience was treated to performances by the Fikret Amirov Azerbaijan State Orchestra of Folk Instruments, the Gara Garayev State Chamber Orchestra, and the nagara players' ensemble of the State Dance Ensemble.
The evening's friendly atmosphere was emphasized by joint performances: the Turkmen folklore ensemble "Galkynyş" and an Azerbaijani soloist presented an original interpretation of the ancient dance "Kushtdepdi." A performance of a composition based on the poetry and music of National Leader of the Turkmen People, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, by People's Artist of Azerbaijan Gulyanak Mamedova and the national dance group "Näzli," evoked a special response from the audience.
A unique exhibition, "Pearls of Azerbaijan's National Heritage," opened at the Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan. The exhibition, drawn from the rare collections of the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum, showcased rare examples of pile and flat weaving from the 19th and 21st centuries, antique jewelry, national embroidery, and traditional headdresses. On the same day, the Ashgabat Cinema in the capital became a magnet for filmmakers, screening the historical drama "Tagiyev: Oil."
The creative forum in the city of Arkadag includes a number of major events. Here, at the Dovletmammet Azadi Library, scholars from both countries will hold a scientific conference dedicated to the legacy of classical poets. A thematic photo exhibition will open at the Museum of Local History. A grand show will be held at the Gorogly State Equestrian Circus, where Azerbaijani artists will perform alongside the renowned Turkmen national equestrian group "Galkynysh."
