The meeting focused on coordinating joint efforts to prepare for and successfully host the large-scale Republic of Korea-Central Asia summit, scheduled for September of this year.
The meeting participants noted that, thanks to the targeted efforts of the top leadership of both countries, intercountry contacts are demonstrating high effectiveness in a wide range of areas. Building on the wealth of experience accumulated, significant progress has been achieved in the political, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres, where the most important applied elements are the activities of interparliamentary friendship groups, as well as regular specialized meetings of young legislators and women parliamentarians, which facilitate an active exchange of experience in lawmaking.
The significant role of leading Korean companies in the implementation of Turkmenistan's major national projects in the gas, chemical, transport and infrastructure, and shipbuilding sectors was emphasized during the meeting. The parties also highly praised the multilateral "Central Asia – Korea" format, describing it as a solid foundation for expanding multi-vector regional cooperation, according to the Mejlis website.
