China's Embodied AI Market Reaches 915 Billion Yuan as AI Token Usage Surges Over 1,000-Fold

Artificial intelligence is becoming a major driver of global economic transformation. Its progress is increasingly measured not only by technological breakthroughs but also by market size, the intensity of digital system usage and integration into physical industries.
On November 4, the China Internet Development Report 2026 and the World Internet Development Report 2026 were released at the World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit in Zhejiang Province.
According to the Chinese report, the country's embodied intelligence market reached approximately 915 billion yuan, or 137.13 billion U.S. dollars, in 2025, representing a year-on-year increase of 20.4 percent.
Embodied intelligence refers to AI technologies integrated with robots and other systems that interact with the physical world.
China's enterprise AI agent market also expanded rapidly, reaching 21.2 billion yuan, equivalent to approximately 3.18 billion dollars, in 2025.
Particularly strong growth was recorded in the use of generative artificial intelligence.
By March 2026, China's average daily AI token call volume had reached 140 trillion, an increase of more than 1,000 times over two years.
By June 2026, a total of 924 generative AI services had completed official filings, along with 573 registered applications or AI-related functions.
Chen Baihui, vice chairman of the World Internet Conference's E-commerce Specialized Committee, emphasized that open-source technologies and international cooperation can lower the cost of adopting artificial intelligence.
He noted that these approaches are especially important for small and medium-sized enterprises in developing countries, enabling them to improve productivity and participate more actively in the global digital economy.
The World Internet Development Report 2026 projected that artificial intelligence could contribute 22.3 trillion U.S. dollars to the global economy by 2030, equivalent to 3.7 percent of global GDP, according to the report's estimate.
At the same time, the report warned that uneven technological development could widen the digital divide and create a new intelligence gap between countries.
Cyrus Hodes, co-founder of AI Safety Connect, highlighted the importance of international cooperation on AI governance, safety safeguards and responsible use of emerging technologies.
The Wuzhen Summit has brought together approximately 1,800 delegates from 138 countries and regions.
As reported by SSTV+, the reports released at the World Internet Conference demonstrate the rapid expansion of China's artificial intelligence industry, including an embodied AI market worth 915 billion yuan and a more than 1,000-fold increase in daily token usage over two years.
