A cargo vessel carrying 153 giant wind turbine blades departed from Yangzhou Port in east China’s Jiangsu Province for India on Friday, setting a new port record for the volume of wind power equipment exported on a single vessel.

The shipment consisted of 51 sets containing a total of 153 turbine blades. Each blade measures 75 meters in length, and the cargo has a combined volume of 168,600 cubic meters.

To ensure smooth loading operations, port authorities worked closely with customs, maritime, border inspection and pilotage services. A dedicated “green corridor” was established to facilitate the vessel’s berthing and departure.

Benefiting from its geographical advantages, a comprehensive industrial chain and an efficient logistics network, Yangzhou Port has become a major export hub for wind power equipment in China.

According to port authorities, the volume of wind turbine blades and tower sections handled during the first nine months of this year increased by 53.2% and 380.31%, respectively, compared with the same period last year. In September alone, total exports of wind power equipment exceeded 15 million cubic meters.

According to CCTV+, the increase in shipments through Yangzhou Port highlights the expansion of China’s wind power equipment exports to overseas markets and the country’s growing logistics capacity in the renewable energy sector.
