Canton Fair to introduce more than 50 new services for participants

More than 50 new measures will be introduced to improve services for participants at the 140th Canton Fair, which will be held from October 15 to November 4 in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province.
Officially known as the China Import and Export Fair, the Canton Fair is China's largest and longest-running international trade exhibition. The upcoming session will be held in three phases and will bring together more than 32,000 companies.
To speed up registration, 70 certificate service points and 628 service windows have been set up at the exhibition venue, airports, railway stations and designated hotels. Registration procedures can take as little as 30 seconds.
The fair will debut 22 smart application scenarios and 16 specialized AI-powered services. For the first time in China, participants will be offered booth-level navigation with one-meter accuracy and augmented reality information for more than 75,000 exhibition booths.
Exhibitors and buyers will also be able to exchange electronic business cards through QR codes, while AI agents will help generate meeting minutes, archive client information and identify high-intent orders.
A new membership program for overseas buyers will also be introduced for the first time, featuring a points-based system and four membership tiers. Organizers said the new services were developed in response to issues most frequently raised by buyers at previous sessions.
During the fair, Guangzhou's metro will operate on a special schedule, while around 9,000 fare gates will accept international bank cards. More than 2,000 taxis and ride-hailing vehicles will also be deployed.
In addition, the city will launch its first autonomous bus route linking the exhibition venue with nearby hotels and subway stations. Guangzhou Customs has also introduced 12 measures to simplify the entry of exhibits and improve tax refund procedures.
According to CCTV+, the new digital, transport and customs services are designed to make participation easier for overseas buyers and improve the efficiency of business exchanges at the Canton Fair.
