Robot manufacturers boosted revenue to 90 billion yuan in five months

Industrial robotics is no longer the domain of futurists — it has become a locomotive of the real economy, where China confidently holds global leadership. The 26.9% revenue growth over five months is not just a number but a reflection of systemic change: from component production to humanoid robotics and export breakthroughs. The industry is moving from product‑based competition to ecosystem rivalry, where collaboration, standardisation and integration become the main drivers of success.
According to data released on Monday at a press conference in Beijing, the operating revenue of China's leading robot manufacturers for the first five months of 2026 exceeded 90 billion yuan (about 13.24 billion US dollars), up 26.9% year on year. The press conference also announced that the 2026 World Robot Conference will be held in Beijing from 19 to 23 August.
Data show that China has been the world's largest industrial robot market for 13 consecutive years, with domestic brands accounting for more than 50% of the domestic market. Hao Lishun, deputy director of the First Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said: "The industry is moving beyond a race defined by individual products and market scale, towards a race shaped by supply‑chain cooperation and ecosystem integration. Manufacturers, component suppliers, research institutes and end‑users are building increasingly efficient collaborative networks across the entire production chain."
In recent years, China has significantly strengthened its capacity to produce key robot components, while the intelligence of complete machines continues to grow. Advanced fields such as humanoid robotics are developing rapidly, and basic technology platforms — operating systems and simulation platforms — are being created at an accelerated pace. Xu Xiaolan, president of the China Electronics Institute, stated: "In the humanoid robot sector, China has built a complete industrial chain covering materials, core components, system integration, operational scenarios and data processing services. In the first quarter of 2026, China's exports of humanoid robots grew by 210% year‑on‑year, becoming a new calling card for China's high‑tech industrial exports."
The organisers of the 2026 World Robot Conference said they have already secured support from nearly 30 international organisations. This year, more than 300 exhibitors will take part — 36% more than last year — with over 2,000 exhibits, including more than 150 new product debuts. The number of side events will double from the previous year to a total of 60. As CCTV+ reports. China's robotics industry continues to steadily strengthen its potential, and the upcoming conference will serve as a key platform for showcasing the latest developments and deepening international cooperation.
