5 trillion yuan in 2025, 8 trillion by 2030, 10% average annual growth. Electric vehicles, electric ships, electric construction machinery, electric aircraft — from generation to recycling. The new energy system covers generation, grid, load and storage.

As reported by CCTV+, China has unveiled a new strategic concept called "full‑scope electrification", projecting that the entire electricity production chain in this sector will exceed 8 trillion yuan (about 1.18 trillion US dollars) by 2030, according to a report published on Wednesday. The report was presented by the China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID) at the 2026 Full‑Scope Electrification Ecological Conference held in Tacheng, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Liu Wenqiang, Deputy Director of CCID, explained: "Full‑scope electrification is built on a new energy system. It is supported by advanced equipment manufacturing, covering generation, grid, load and storage segments, and uses electric vehicles, electric ships, electric construction machinery and electric aircraft as key end‑users. It will be widely applied in urban utilities, transport and other areas." According to the report, comprehensive electrification covers multiple aspects: power generation, energy storage, electrical equipment manufacturing, charging and battery‑swapping infrastructure, and battery recycling. China's comprehensive electrification market is expected to reach about 5 trillion yuan in 2025 and exceed 8 trillion yuan by 2030, with an average annual growth rate of 10 percent.

The concept of "full‑scope electrification" implies not just replacing petrol engines with electric motors, but a systemic transformation of the entire energy chain — from green power generation to storage, distribution and final consumption across all economic sectors. CCID is a leading Chinese think tank in the electronics and information industry. Tacheng is a city in Xinjiang that hosted the ecological conference. The figure of 8 trillion yuan by 2030 puts China among the world leaders in the scale of electrification.

When electricity ceases to be just a commodity and becomes the foundation of the entire economy, the world changes shape. China is not just putting people in electric cars — it is rebuilding the very fabric of industry, logistics and urban life. Eight trillion yuan by 2030 is not just a forecast. It is a plan that turns oil dependence into energy independence. And when electric ships sail the rivers and electric aircraft take to the skies, we will understand: the age of carbon is over. The age of the electron is beginning.
