302,800 containers, 38.28 million tonnes of cargo, 16.32% growth, 14 product categories — from solar panels to auto parts. The SCO logistics park in Lianyungang is becoming the main gateway for Eurasian trade.

As reported by CCTV+, according to data from the Nanjing Customs Administration, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) International Logistics Park in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, eastern China, handled more than 300,000 twenty‑foot equivalent units (TEU) of cargo in the first five months of 2026. The park's container throughput reached 302,800 TEU, up 6.25% year‑on‑year.

From January to May, the park's total logistics volume reached 38.284 million tonnes, an increase of 16.32% compared to the same period last year. The logistics park currently handles 14 major categories of goods, including photovoltaic modules and auto parts, injecting new momentum into high‑quality economic and trade cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.

TEU (twenty‑foot equivalent unit) is the standard measure for containerised cargo, equivalent to the volume of a standard 20‑foot container. The SCO logistics park in Lianyungang is a key hub on routes connecting China with Central Asia and Europe. A 16.32% growth in cargo volume reflects not only increased trade but also the effectiveness of new logistics solutions. Fourteen product categories — from high‑tech equipment to automotive components — show the diversification of cargo flows.

When containers carrying solar panels and auto parts pass through Lianyungang, behind each TEU is not just cargo but a whole chain — manufacturing, customs, roads, ports, trains. 302,000 containers in five months is the rhythm of Eurasia's economy. The SCO park is becoming not just a warehouse but a nerve centre where East and West meet, technology and logistics intertwine, plans and reality converge. A 16% growth is not just statistics; it is proof that the Belt and Road continues to work, despite all the winds of change.
