Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari arrived in China for a week-long visit to mark the 75th anniversary of the agreement between the two countries. His first days in Changsha, Hunan Province, were devoted to deepening economic and trade ties.
Zardari visited SANY Group, where he was introduced to unmanned forklifts and high-tech equipment, as well as Hunan Tea Group. At the tea company, he discussed the two countries' shared cultures and the prospects for progressive Pakistani agriculture.
A special moment was the awarding of the Sitara-i-Pakistan Medal to Chinese physician Pan Xiangbin. In 2025, his team performed life-saving heart surgeries on Pakistani children.
The two sides signed memoranda on water desalination, agriculture, and humanitarian exchanges. On Monday, the president visited Shaoshan, the birthplace of Mao Zedong, and laid a wreath at his memorial.
After Hunan, Zardari will head to Hainan. The visit will last until May 1.
